GET TO KNOW HIM MORE!! Any resolution, or determination, as the older folk back in the day were known to say, that does not involve or result in our knowing Christ more to the intent that a deeper walk with him is realized, is one, I am sad to say, that is void of Gods primary purpose for our lives. And beloved, whenever Gods purpose is either minimized or missing in what we are doing, Gods presence and thus his power is likewise minimal or missing! Saints of God, clearly we are in these very last days to be sure. (2 Timothy 3). The return of Christ is extremely imminent meaning it can occur at any minute. There certainly are no biblical reason why it cannot and has not occurred other than of course, Gods longsuffering which is his unwillingness that any should needlessly perish! (2 Peter 3:9). I urge you therefore to purpose in your heart in this New Year to GET TO KNOW CHRIST MORE; to pursue him more. It is only in our increasing in the knowledge of Him (Colossians 1:10) that we will be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:14) Now it is very important that we keep this in mind. While it is very true that Christ is coming back for his church, [and I am certainly longing for his appearing, what about you?] what must not be lost upon any of us though is this: the church [the individual saints] which Christ will present to himself will be a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish! (Ephesians 5:27) And beloved, the only thing capable of producing in our lives that kind of God-honoring gloriousness and holiness is the Christ-like life and the only way that we can achieve this life is through the Word of God which is the only means by which we can discover Christ more!
