GET TO KNOW the delightful...JEROME STARCK. Paris based, New York-signed Togolese-German model seems to have the globe covered. The new signing to Red Models NYC tells TopBlackModels how it all began… For me, it all began in a Paris subway. I was approached by a French beginner photographer (Isaac Smith) who wanted shoot me and I accepted only out of curiosity. At some point after that, I went on holidays to New York and a photographer sent polaroids of me to a few local agencies and I got signed to Red after that! . Im new to modeling so at the moment I am just building my book. I signed with Red New York a few weeks ago and looking to get signed in Paris and other territories. So I hope for the best. I like a lot of the pictures I am taking at the moment. One of my favorite pictures is by Horacio Hamlet. Its a black and white photo next to the pier sit on a random scooter on the street. I like my eyes expression and I can see my evolution as a model. Although I am mainly a French speaker, I have a good idea of English as I learnt it in school! So it has not been a problem so far - people are cool with me but now I am trying to learn English to a better level! My ethnic mix? Oh yes, I have heard lot of guesses about my origin! Lot people ask me if Im Latino but I am really connected to my roots. My mom was born in Togo and raised me up alone so Im particularly close to my African roots. And I love travel in Togo! In fact, I like to travel everywhere – and this is one of the reasons I choose be a model! One of the best advice I have received so far came from photographers Djimi Williams and Horacio Hamlet who encouraged me to go to New York to see agencies. And Djimi Williams really thought me how to use my eyes. This was very useful advice! When I am not modeling, I love to cook for my family and friends. Im also addicted to working out and soccer! And Im passionate about biking. Not a lot of people know that… a few years ago I was a really overweight boy and had to work hard for the body I have today. And I know now that where you have the will there is always a way! Im really proud to be chosen as a future Top Black Model. Its an honor for me considering I am really new in this world! I am so happy to be recognized! Thank you! My hope is to do a perfume campaign or some other big brands and maybe see my face in Time Square! Haha. Thank you Jerome.
