GLEN WAVERLEY SC. 11th-12th Dec, 2014. The students from Glen Waverley Secondary College returned to The Summit for another awesome sports leadership camp! Some were back as experienced campers, others were fresh as first timers, in for an epic ride! It’s always great to see familiar faces, especially Jacob our always and forever favourite ball boy! This camp was definitely action packed with the campers doing 10 activities over two days! So there were lots of highlights like the Giant Swing, Leap of Faith and the Abseil, but we would like to share our highlights as staff from what we experienced with you guys! On the first afternoon, Amber showed us why she’s a seasoned veteran at The Summit scooting up the Rock Wall Overhang. A HUGE well done to Pedraam who conquered the Leap of Faith after having three attempts and on the final go, he showed persistence and got a big run up to make it to the bar! Well done buddy, that was really inspiring to watch! A.K. really stretched his limits on Friday morning up the top of the Summit Window. Aruni and Katrina also had super-dooper stretches on the Summit Window, and Yash was also a little hesitant but got up there & loved the view! Great work! And Bip – I loved your positive attitude & enthusiasm for life – keep being truly who you are. Nat’s group had some incredible spiderman drops from Leap – great work! And fabulous effort by the teachers who jumped in & provided great support and example to their students. It was awesome to have Shaun, Dan, Daniel and Linda at camp and hope to see you guys next year! Jacob pushed himself out of his comfort zone at Snake and Nails. Well done mate, it takes a lot to be vulnerable in front of your peers so that was really awesome to watch! Congratulations to our four reward winners Zoe, Pedraam, Kira and Amy! It was well deserved after an awesome effort over camp. Georgia loved her farewell & was brought to tears by the love & standing ovation at end of camp! Thank-you for a goodbye I’ll never forget :) From James, Chewy and Georgia, thank you very much for coming on camp and doing so well! We cannot wait to see you guys next year!
