GOFAMINT Sunday School Manual. Lesson Two (2) DAILY BIBLE READING. (Wednesday 5/3/2014) I Will Put My Spirit Within You. (Ezekiel 36:22-28) When God gave this promise to the Israelites, they were living in rebellion and unrighteousness. However, God said He was going to intervene not because of whatever they had done but because of His great name. He said, He is going to sprinkle clean water upon them to wash them from all their filthiness and idols and cleanse them. He will give them a new heart and then put His Spirit within them. This promise reveals the various step that must be taken before the baptism of the Holy Spirit. There must be total cleansing from all impurities, there must be circumcision of the heart - salvation and sanctification and then follows the Holy Spirit baptism. This is the order and not the other way round. Point of Emphasis: It is God who gives the Holy Spirit not by mechanical imitation. Prayer Point: Lord, help me to walk in Your statute by Your Spirit in me.
