GOING UP Paramount is one of the few major theaters in Chicagoland that has a fly system. In this instance, we’re not talking about getting MARY POPPINS airborne, we’re talking about set pieces and scrims that are lowered from the rafters onto the stage and then hoisted away when needed. This historic 80-plus year-old venue has a lot of traditions, and one tradition still remains – flying pieces in and out are all still done by hand by our wonderful stage hands and run crew. There’s just some things better left to be personally handled by a reliable, qualified pro. Thank you to all the men and women back stage that patrons never see. We couldn’t do a show without you.
