GOOD MORNING DEVON:I know you like Bible study, so let me talk to you in a way you will understand. Abraham’s father Terah, initially was led in Genesis 11:31 to bring his family to Canaan (the promised land). He left home with everyone and went 600 miles North west and settled in Harran, when he should have went due west to get to Canaan…..It was the same distance by foot, though the terrain would have been different, Canaan through the rough desert, Harran through the easier Euphrates valley. Terah, with possibly good intentions became settled in the “Wrong Place”. He set out for Canaan, but “settled for” Harran. Terah, Abrams father died in that place, and God next speaks to Abram, whether for the first time or again, The instruction and direction was the same……..Get up and I will show you a place (The same Canaan!!!!), the place of promise. Devon, where is your place of promise? Don’t die in a place that you only “settled for”………What was your destination? what was your instruction? What were you called to do? Are you taking the easier route to appease your peoples or your flesh? Pastor Penn ………………reminding Devon D. Penn that full obedience and not partial is still a Central theme of God.
