GOOD MORNING EARLY RISERS!!! I go back to work today, after a week of recovery and rest. Im about rested out, and Im ready to get back to work!!! I miss it when I dont get to go in and see the wonderful team of people that I call my friends! They are an awesome group of ladies and gentlemen! They are wonderful in that they have allowed me this last week to recover from the swelling in my spine. The pain is back in my right leg, but Im just dealing with it. Ill be from office chair to wheelchair, so I wont do any real walking. My appointment to see Dr. Stoneceipher is on the 23rd of this month. I just hope that I can hold out this long. I had to contact medical records at St. Josephs to get the ER notes, hospital nurses notes, and the various CT scans and MRIs. It cost over $199 just to get the transcribed notes!!! Someone told me that had the doctors office requested those notes, it wouldnt have cost me anything; however, it was well worth it just to get the ball rolling! The sooner that the doctor got the notes, the sooner Id get an appointment; sure enough, the office called to make an appointment for me, and I jumped on it!! They said to eat or drink nothing after midnight, and come prepared with a driver, because they will probably do an injection curing my appointment. He is also supposed to work with me on some type of pain management medication. Perhaps a patch, he suggested during his visit at the hospital. Whatever works, Im all up for trying it! A person just shouldnt have to live with such daily pain, if theres a way to relive it!! On to the weekend. Len woke up Saturday morning and decided to take on a task that weve needed for so long. I think that the pile of orange extension cords finally got to him. We had to rig up extension cords so that we could strategically place fans about the deck on Friday when we had Patti and Harley and Jim and Bernice, and their son, Vinnie, over for hot dogs and hamburgers. So, he went to Loves and bought all of the materials, and then he came home and began his project. He wouldnt even stop long enough to eat a warmed up hot dog!! He just worked like a madman at his project. I do wish that I understood electricity as well as he does. The number one thing he knows is to throw the breaker!! He never works with a live project!!! When the project was over, I had four new outlets x 2 plugs each, and a switch on one of them which is directly wired into my fairy lights that go all around the deck! I love that feature most of all!!! Now, in the dark, I dont have to fumble and look for the cord to plug into the extension cord!! I think its wonderful that with a flip of a switch, I have lights!!! Im telling you, Lenny is the handiest handy man that I know. He can fix just about anything!! To me, the switch idea was ingenious!! I didnt have to do very much for the Fourth of July gathering, because Patti did all of the onion and tomato slicing. As soon as Hans realized that Noonday Onions were out on a tray, he began to come inside and get onions to eat! Its not often that youll find anyone under 30 that likes onion, but Noondays are so hard to not like!!! I even made my burger with Noonday Onion, Pattis garden tomatoes, and some heart of Romaine lettuce. I didnt use pickles, though. I dont like that sour taste on my burger. Everything went off without a hitch. The girls, with Lens help, got everything on the table. Well, actually, Hans and Harley did that. They made sure that hot dog relish and jalapeno peppers were on the table. After everyone ate, Bernice, Patti, and Lenny cleaned up the kitchen and dining room table. It worked really well to use the dining room table as a buffet and then using the outside tables to sit and eat. Everyone got very full, and then Len pulled out the homemade ice cream, made with my mothers neighbors recipe from over 50 years ago!!! What a treat that was!! And yesterday, I rested up for today. The day after a holiday will be very busy, plus I had things pending in my tray that Ill have to finish today!! I think it would help immensely if I could be three people today, but thats not going to happen, so I just need to concentrate on one task at a time, and take as many customers as I can. We have to make them feel welcomed as soon as they hit the door!!! I promise that Ill do my part today!!! I must hit the shower.....its that time of the day!!! Have a wonderful Monday, and I do hope that you enjoyed your Fourth of July holiday!!! Chatty, over and out!! :)
