He also wrote several great episodes of The Twilight Zone, which have become fan favorites. Other television credits include episodes of Wagon Train, The Invaders, Gentle Ben, Nanny and the Professor, Boone, CBS Playhouses Appalachian Autumn, and Apples Way (which Earl also created). Television movies and teleplays to his credit include Heidi, Aesops Fables, The Homecoming: A Christmas Story, Charlottes Web, Lassie: A New Beginning, The Gift of Love: A Christmas Story, The Night Before Christmas: A Mouse Tale and A Mothers Gift.
