GOOD NEWS REPORT: Nurse Nina Pham is now Ebola-free and has been released from care. I feel fortunate and blessed to be standing here today, Pham told reporters at a press conference outside the clinic. Throughout this ordeal, I have put my trust in God and my medical team. As a nurse, Pham said, she has a special appreciation for the care she received. I do not know how I can ever thank every one of you enough for your prayers. The nurse also thanked Dr. Kent Brantly, the American doctor who survived Ebola after being evacuated out of West Africa, for his selfless act of donating his plasma, which was used to treat Pham. She said she is looking forward to returning home to Texas to resume a normal life and reunite with her dog, Bentley, who has tested negative for Ebola and is due to be released from quarantine Nov. 1. Pham looked healthy and was smiling as she stood next to her mother, sister and NIH doctors who helped bring her back to health. Many of them were wearing ribbons in the colors of Texas Christian University, a tribute to Phams nursing school. She is an extraordinary individual. She also represents the nurses and healthcare workers who put themselves on the line ... to take care of people who are in such need, said Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the NIHs Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. This is Dennis ONeill reporting for the GOOD NEWS REPORT.
