GOVERNMENTAL WORSHIP A couple of years ago Apostle David Copp saw and felt something in the Spirit that he described as ‘governmental worship’. The basic reality that he saw was that in and through worship a group of men and women would have the power to release the kingdom purpose of God into the earth with great force and power according to the discerned will of God. This was similar to Governmental Prayer, but occurring in and through our times of corporate worship. I believe that we are stepping into the prophetic reality of what he saw years ago. Our worship is becoming incredibly transactional in recent weeks and months. By ‘transactional’ I mean that it is not simply our worshipping of the Lord, but an interaction with God in worship in which God Himself releases something in the Spirit in, and through, and because of our worship! This reality of Governmental Worship is described prophetically by David in the Psalms PSALM 150 1 Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. 2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with dancing; let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. 5 Let the godly ones exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 8 to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron, 9 To execute on them the judgment written; this is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!” In this Psalm, what begins as an exhortation to praise the Lord, sing a new song and praise God with rejoicing, music, and even dance, turns into a call to battle and war connected with ‘high praises’. What is described is a people who know how to worship AND battle in the realm of the Spirit. Notice that this Governmental Worship is to “execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples! It is to bind kings with chains and nobles with fetters of iron. It is the execution of divinely determined judgment! This Governmental Worship is summarized as “An honor for all His godly ones”!! Is it simply by chance that this is the 150th Psalm? Is it not significant that the entire and true purpose of worship is here defined and described and prescribed? This is not simply worship…this is not just giving God praise…this is not just being touched by God and His presence. This is beyond that. This is the ultimate purpose for praise and worship and high praises. It is worship that partners with God to release Kingdom purposes into the nations of the earth! It is a partnership with the Lord in governing the nations of the earth according to the purposes of God! It is ministry of honor for the godly ones who stand in Representation and the transactional power of the Plain of Confluence! After describing what happens in Governmental Worship, David finishes with another exhortation to worship: PRAISE THE LORD!! Let us be aware of the Governmental nature of our worship and discern God’s will and purpose in our worship as the Holy Spirit directs us!
