GREAT NEWS - HB 2751S - VIETNAM VETERANS RECOGNITION DAY IN UTAH – FOR MARCH 29 – Bill has been written, has been numbered and now we need to start gathering support. Need action by everyone. Received exciting news today from Utah Representative Curtis Oda – a great Marine and friend of Veterans in Utah – that the Bill I requested last Fall to designate March 29 as a permanent observance day in Utah called Vietnam Veterans Day or Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day has been drafted, numbered and released. It now goes thru the routine of all legislation – it is actually a Bill to amend the designated days to add March 29 to that list of annual observances. If that makes sense. I need each and every one of you to contact your Utah State Representative, your Utah State Senators, and the Governor’s Office asking for and encouraging the passage of HB2751S sponsored by Representative Oda. Even those of you from out of state please make some phone calls. We are one step further toward getting recognition – a day that is 50 years past due but is ours – no one can take it away once we get it. Like the Vietnam War – it is ours – it belongs to us. We claim it with honor and we claim it for our brothers. Vietnam Veterans Day in Utah will belong to us.
