IN L.A.: An attempted assassination of two LAPD officers is being compared to the attack on NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu last week. Two suspects opened fire on a police vehicle in a South Los Angeles neighborhood on Sunday night. LAPD Deputy Chief Bob Green told NBC Los Angeles it is a “possibility” that the attack was in retaliation for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, like the assassinations of NYPD officers Ramos and Liu. “Whether or not this is related to that, too early to tell,” said Green. IN NORTH CAROLINA: Two black men attempted to assassinate a North Carolina police officer on Thursday night at around 10 p.m. Officer J.T. West was able to save his own life when he noticed the men approaching his cop car in the rear-view mirror. He was seated inside the vehicle working on a report, according to Bearing Arms.
