Gangnam Style: Kazakhstan’s military band bringing a second wave to Beijing? #GangnamStyle, a dance style meant to depict the vibe of Seoul’s elite Gangnam area, was spotted in #China once again! The dance, which went viral worldwide in 2012, was performed by #Kazakhstan’s military band at the #Olympic Park in #Beijing on Friday, with all performers dressed in #military uniforms. It was performed as part of a military music show given by the five member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), entitled “Peace in Horns—2014”. Ten military bands from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, attended the show, including about 600 performers. Earlier this week, over 7,000 troops from the five members of the SCO carried out its first rehearsal for the upcoming 2014 Peace Mission military exercises in North China’s Inner Mongolia.
