Four Democrats ARRESTED or RAIDED by the FBI in the Last Week William Scarborough – a State Assemblyman from New York – had his offices raided by the FBI to investigate whether he cheated taxpayers out of thousands of dollars through the fudging of travel expenses. So far this year, the Queens Democrat has filed for $10,350 in total expenses, according to state Controller Thomas DiNapoli’s’s office. In 2013, Scarborough’s reimbursed expenses totaled $28,438. In 2012 the expenses came to $33,986. Patrick Cannon — A Mayor in North Carolina — was arrested after being charged with corruption. FBI agents busted the man after he accepted more than $48,000 in cash, airline tickets, hotel rooms and an apartment. Cannon could be sent to prison for up to 50 years and could rack up a whopping $1.5 million in fines if he is convicted of these charges. Gordon Fox — who is the Rhode Island Speaker of the House — saw his offices and home raided by the FBI this past week. The agents hauled away boxes of evidence and gave no warning before showing up. It is unclear what the Rhode Island speaker did. Much of the state was surprised and caught off off-guard by the raid.
