A little history on the song: Gene co-wrote Back in the Saddle Again with Ray Whitely and he first recorded it for Columbia Records in 1939, again in 1946, and a third time in 1952. Gene sang the song in three movies: Rovin Tumbleweeds (1939), Back in the Saddle (1941), and Home in Wyomin (1942).
