Gene Shay is The Man. I met him at one of Christine Lavins Singer Songwriter Retreats in Marthas Vineyard. I clung to him like a barnacle for the entire event, spellbound. One minute he would tell you about having Ani DiFranco in the studio last week and 10 minutes later he had a story about Joni Mitchell 25 years before. His musical knowledge is nothing short of encyclopedic. We have remained good friends in the years since. He is beloved by everyone. His NERFA parties are legendary. Thank you Gene, from the bottom of my heart. You have blessed us beyond measure.
