Generaly when I watch hypnosis in the media the hypnotists claim that the subjects will not do anything under hypnosis that they will not do in normal awake state. Isnt this a myth? I mean you change the subjects interpretation of reality so they think that they are acting accordingly to their moral beliefs but in fact are doing something against it. Derren Brown tested this myth in the tv program called Assassin and clearly showed that you can get a person to do an extreme act such as shooting another person in the mindset that he is merely on the practise range shooting at a target. I know this is TV and therefore one should always be skeptical so Im gonna ask you (experts) to comment on this. Below I have posted a link to the mentioned tv program.
