Genesis 21:22, 23 And it came to pass at that time that Abimelech and Phichol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you do. Now therefore swear to me by God that you will not deal falsely. With me, with my offspring, or with my posterity but that according to the kindness that I have done to you; you will do to me and to the Land in which you have sojourned.” God’s word says your enemies will make a covenant with you. God will show them that God is with you and whatever you do God gives you success. Your success will create fear in their heart. Even though Abraham was sojourned in the land of the Philistines but the king of Philistines was fearful with him because he saw God with him as his help. In the same way we see in Isaac’s life when he was facing famine and went to escape from this famine to the Gerar. King Abimelech was the ruler of Gerar. Here Lord appeared to him and said “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you, sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and your descendants I give all these land and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your Father. – Genesis 26:2-3 Isaac began to prosper and continued prospering until he became very prosperous. Then Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends and Phichol the commander of his army. They we have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you. That you will do us no harm, since we have not touched you and since we have done nothing to you. So they swore an oath with one another and Isaac sent them away. – Genesis 26:26-31 If we are God’s children chosen by him, obeying and following God, then God will be seen in our midst and will prosper us in the world, our enemies will make covenant not to harm us. God will create fear in their in their heart for us. As it is written in Deuteronomy 33:29 Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of you r help and the sword of you r majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you and you shall tread down their high places. Prayer: Thank you Lord, you are my help and tower and dwelling place. You are my shield and living rock of salvation. I shall not fear the enemies because you always fight for me. Help me to obey and follow you always. In the name of Jesus Amen.
