Gentlemen, without divulging details that must remain under wraps for now, I must tell you that the survival of UAB football is at risk once again by forces rooted in our system BOT. This time more than ever and with inside assistance in the person of UAB President Dr. Ray L. Watts. Such was the impetus of the formation and announcement in recent weeks of the Blazer Football Foundation. This group is comprised of some very powerful, wealthy individuals and includes former UAB football players that had or have NFL careers. They are putting a plan in motion to prevent possibly imminent actions but they need, and have requested, our help. All of you need to email Dr. Watts ([email protected]) and AD Brian Mackin ([email protected]) immediately. Express your appreciation for Coach Clarks results with our program, that he be granted a contract extension, and your support for FBS football in general at UAB. The changes being formulated behind the scenes would be the beginning of the gutting of undergraduate student life at our institution/alma mater. Your voice is needed now...more than ever and this opportunity may be your last. Dont spread public panic - thats a strategic blunder the Foundation wants to avoid - but you students and alums need to speak up now!! Thanks!
