Georgia Weather History for June 28th In 1994, two separate F-1 tornadoes tore through the town of Blairsville only 1 hour apart from each other. During the first twister, three homes received roof and window damage while several large trees were uprooted causing $50,000 in damage. The second twister caused 10 times the amount of monetary damage. It touched down 10 miles west of Blairsville along U.S Highway 76 and skipped east then lifted about six miles west of Blairsville and damaged four homes in its path.
