Having sold David Luiz to PSG Jose Mourinho may be looking to strengthen his central midfield options and could feel Sandro is a better option than Nigerian international John Obi Mikel, who himself plays second fiddle to January signing Nemanja Matic. The Reds had initially been interested in the young Spanish full-back with reports earlier this week claiming that an £18m deal was just days away from being completed. However, the deal has been put on ice after it emerged that Tottenham were also keen on the player and would look to make their own bid for him in the coming days. And now reports in Germany are claiming that Brendan Rodgers is set to revive his interest in the Swiss star after he fell out of favour at the Alianz Arena. CaughtOffside understands that Rodgers has secretly been having the 26-year-old watched over the course of the season and has been impressed with his form after bagging 20 goals in just 35 matches for Spartak over the last 18 months. ------ Real Madrid are lining up a big money bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez according to Football Direct News. The Spanish giants have been tracking the Uruguayan goal machine for some months and although there is little chance the Anfield side would consider offers for the 27 year old this will not stop Real Madrid mounting a £70m bid for Suarez this summer. Real president Florentino Perez, coach Carlo Ancelotti and director general Jose Angel Sanchez are reported to have met to discuss summer transfer targets earlier this week and have decided to make their interest in Suarez formal and will hope that a big money offer may alert the former Ajax man. Suarez netted 31 Premier League goals last term and won a host of awards following a standout campaign that helped Liverpool to mount a genuine title challenge. Having recently signed a lucrative new contract that makes him the highest paid player in Liverpool history and seen Brendan Rodgers secure a long awaited return to the Champions League, there would appear to be little reason why Luis Suarez would consider leaving the Merseyside outfit this summer.
