Gershon Baskin describes the story behind Hamas success in 2006 Gaza elections. Of course Hamas in Gaza, just as Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, had no intentions of power-sharing with the minority parties. When political Islam (Islamism) wins in democratic elections, all the other parties get forced out of the game (like by throwing the PLO guys off the high roofs and shooting them in dark alleys in Gaza in 2006). Democracy might be the best form of government somewhere else, but not in the Middle East. Its about time for the West to wake up to this reality.
