Get to know Dominic Lawson, vocalist and member of the RNCM Session Orchestra... Music has always been a huge part of Dominic’s life, he began playing the keyboards, singing and dancing at the age of 7 years old, he later picked up the saxophone at 11. At 13 he appeared on stars in their eyes kids as Pharrell Williams, then had a break from singing to pursue the saxophone as he joined the national saxophone choir of great Britain as the principle Tenor sax player. He has performed at numerous notable venues with both the saxophone and his singing such as symphony hall, The Southbank Centre, The world Saxophone Congress in Thailand, and the BT river of music stage at the 2012 London Olympics. One of his personal highlights and favourite performances was singing backing vocals for the incredible Avery Sunshine on her UK tour, in Manchester in 2012. Dominic now studies the saxophone at Royal Northern College of Music but has now returned to his true passion, singing. His style is firmly rooted in RnB/Soul but he delves into classical, jazz, rock and pop on the occasion.
