Getting on the subway just now, and theres this lighter skinned African American man making seemingly strange noises waving a piece of paper in front of peoples faces as they try to purchase their tickets at the kiosk. Everyone is frantically trying to get away as fast as they can from this guy. I decided to see what this man wanted. Turns out he was holding a piece of paper explaining he was deaf (that explains his unusual noises, but this was obviously a way for him to try and communicate) and just needed money to get on the next train so he could get to a care center downtown. I immediately purchased the man a metro pass good for 7 days of unlimited rides. I am really not that good of a dude, in all honestly, but seeing everyone leaving this guy in the dust because he was a little strange (also probably because he was black, you racist stereotyping assholes) made me so sad and angry. All this guy needed was someone to care for a damn second. Good luck, buddy. Be safe, and hopefully you at least get a nice week of not having to ask for transportation help from horrible humans. Hey Everyone, lets make sure that during our selfish substance abuses this weekend we all try and do something nice for someone a little different thats in need of basic human compassion. End of story.
