Getting ready for some winter upgrades to the Gemma Rose II! I - TopicsExpress

Getting ready for some winter upgrades to the Gemma Rose II! I wrote up an end of season one review for the Triumph Skiff, and while I really like my boat overall, some improvements can be made. Im upgrading the electricals, adding a bus board, an additional switch panel and wiring for a new electric bow motor. I fish a ton at night, and the manufacturers lighting on this boat is non-existent. I HATE the pole mounted navigation lights, as the base connections are already poor after a season in salt water. New hardwired navigation lights are on the way, as well as lighting along the gunnels, above the center console and in the live well. Im mounting a big-ass (not sure what that equates to in lumens or candle power) search/flood light as well, in order to avoid all of those pots running in and out to fish. Another option Im considering include a bow leaning post. Ive looked at a few designs, and am leaning towards having a local fabricator make one to my specs. Anyone that has any input or additional thoughts or designs, give me a shout, or better yet, send a photo. Im sure they will be some other odds and ends before the spring. All things considered, thats not a very long laundry list of things to upgrade. If youre looking for a tough, versatile inshore boat, this skiff offers a lot of bang for the buck. redneckangler.blogspot/2013/10/triumph-skiff-review-end-of-season-one.html
