Gideon in Oregon is still waiting on his forever home. Yes, but WHY? Gideon is a 3 year old male who came to us from a shelter. He is located in Oregon (near Roseburg). He is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He came to DDBR about 20 pounds under weight, but has steadily gained weight and looks fantastic now. Gideon appears to have been a kennel dog, but has learned manners quickly. It’s clear he didn’t really know how to play or hasn’t played since puppyhood, but is truly blossoming and coming out of his shell, he now LOVES his squeaky toy and carries it with him everywhere. He is sweet, loving, gentle, a bit boisterous at times, but very mellow most of the time. Gideon is not ok with male dogs or small animals, but is great with female dogs of similar size (though does need to be crated when high value treats such as bones are given as he gets protective with other dogs near his bones). Gideon has learned leash manners and basic commands such as sit and stay. Gideon would benefit from a family willing to continue with basic manners and obedience training on him and provide guidance and leadership as he is VERY willing to learn and so desperately wants to be part of what ever you are doing. Gideon craves to be part of the family unit, appears to be housetrained, just wants to be near you all the time. If Gideon is the right dog for you, please complete our application. Standard adoption fee is $450 applies to all of our rescues.
