GiveForward back to fundraiser Islanders Announce J.Hotchkin Fundraiser this Sat Posted by Travis Bucholtz on August 21st, 2013 Top City Islanders Announce Community Caring and Fundraising Campaign for former player # 11 Jason Hotchkin Saturday August 24 Playoff Game to support Hotchkin (Harrisburg, PA Wed. August 21, 2013) The Harrisburg City Islanders Pro Soccer team announced a Community Caring and Fundraising Campaign for former Islander Jason Hotchkin this Saturday, August 24 at their USL PRO Quarter Final Playoff at 2pm at Skyline Sport Complex, City Island, Harrisburg. Jason is a former City Islander Player and wore the # 11 jersey during his time with the Islanders. Jason played the 2013 season with the Harrisburg Heat and is also a Youth coach and trainer for CASA Soccer Club. Jason has played for many teams both here and abroad and was on the 2004 USLPRO Charlotte Eagles team of which the Islanders will face on Saturday. Jason was a victim a random act of violence during a very serious altercation this weekend in West Chester, PA while attending and coaching at a youth tournament. He is current in a hospital in the Philadelphia area and will have extension medical bills. With the family’s permission, on Saturday the Islanders friends and family have several events for fans to support Jason through this difficult time. The Harrisburg City Islanders will donate a portion of all paid ticket sales to benefit Jason’s medical fund. In addition, the Islander players will be wearing a special #11 warm up shirt in support of Jason. Players warm up shirts will be autographed and auctioned to fans during the game with proceeds going to benefit Jason’s medical fund. Fans can stop by the #StayStrong Jason stand to send a message to Jason on a large card as well as make a monetary donation to his fund. Fans can meet other fans on the field at half time to create the #11 (using people on the field). A photo of fans on the field as number 11 will be to Jason to let him know the soccer community is playing for him.
