Global chaos after Soviet fall Mujtaba Haider Zaidi Fall of Axis Powers, i.e. Germany and Japan, from the position of two potential threats to the US-UK axis during the last year of WWII paved the way towards the emergence of USA and USSR as two greatest powers to rule the Capitalist and Socialist bloc of the world respectively. Somehow, instead of keeping on joining hands with each other on the same lines as per their tradition during 1941-45, where they had observed an unflinching concord against the Nazi threat, the two emerged as rival to one another at the international arena subsequent to the German surrender in May 1945. Actually commenced on the issue of the division of administration of the territories belonging to the vanquished Nazi Germany by 1947-8, the rivalry adopted the form of political and strategic conflict that would to create a bi-polar political system at the global scale for several decades to come. Historians and strategic analysts view it to be the very moment when the world witnessed the rise of Cold War that could last for over four and half decades to go till the Soviet Union would undergo disintegration in the wake of the revolts made by few of its eastern and southern states (now frequently referred as the CARS). Political rivalry between the bald eagle and polar bear gave rise to the division of entire world, where the smaller states boldly demonstrated their affiliations with either of these two powers, and associated their interests with their respective strategic master. Consequently, the states maintaining displeasure and abhorrence for the US policies used to join the Russian club, and vice versa. It was partly due to the very fact that the smaller states had come to the conclusion that seeking the canopy of either of the two super powers would bless them with the surety regarding the safety and protection of their sovereignty and independence eventually; and it was really the case with the squirrels that had been bestowed with the bounty of a status equivalent to the beasts of the jungle of international arena through the UN charter and resolutions. Hence, the squirrels and beasts would live as equal beings, and no one would dare to challenge the security of the weaker stratum at any cost; how simple and foolish had been the squirrel states of the world!!! When the US beast invaded over the Vietnam squirrel in 1955, many of the weaker states came to know their real status at the international arena. It is therefore, the states that had strong reservations regarding the US policies, sought shelter under the Russian canopy. The Soviet Russia, as a dauntless Veto power, defended the socialist and friendly countries by displaying resistance against the US adventures in almost all regions of the globe during the General Assembly and Security Council meetings, as well as by raising sonorous voice against the US aggressions from all international platforms. It is an old saying that one sword keeps the other in the sheath. Subsequently, the US-UK axis had to make hard efforts before devising strategies with regards to invading over any defiant state existing on the face of the earth; and perhaps the same was also the case with the Russian ambitions that used to be got foiled by posing opposition from the USA and her permanent allies; and all these blessings were attributed to the Cold War era, which had maintained the Balance of Power all over the globe to a great extent, end of which was to invite the sole supremacy of the capitalist bloc in all international affairs eventually. The Cold War observed its ultimate decline with the defeat of Socialism and success of the US-led Capitalism by 1991. It was the time when the Cold War was to be replaced with the purported New World Order, where the Americans could be supreme, and would have no more hurdles on their way to establish the world of their choice that could work just in the best interest of the United States. There was a ridiculous thought that the Muslim bloc could take the position of the potential US threat after the fall of Soviet Russia. Some of the Muslim countries also advanced towards the same direction for emerging to be the rival of capitalist bloc by mid 1970s; though the US think tank was more rational and dedicated one in respect of exploiting the Muslim states in her favour. Since no one could be in a position to force the Muslims to convert to some other faith, particularly en masse, the US think tank decided to bring such rulers in the Muslim World, which would apparently be the fundamentalist statesmen, though in closet they would serve to be the agents for the US interests. As a result, the military dictators, imperialist rulers and so-called jihadis were implanted, promoted and supported that would weaken the very roots of their respective social, cultural and political fabric in the sacred name of faith. As a result, such rulers rose at the helm of power, which actually were neither fundamentalists nor humane nor civilized ones even. And instead of implementing and promoting the real spirit of Islam within their political sphere, they started defaming the sacred religion by inflicting harshness and mercilessness upon their hapless subjects. These so-called fundamentalist leaders not only plundered the wealth of their nations, but also harvested the seeds of prejudice, hatred and abhorrence, getting rid of which has become a very hard nut to crack in modern times. And still the same US strategy appears to be working in its full swing, where the US authorities are openly offering financial, strategic and armed support to the radicals and rebels in order to shake the unity of the Muslims to a throbbing extent; and all these political policies are being exercised because of the absence of any power to challenge the excesses committed by the US-led capitalist bloc in divergent zones of the world. In other words, fall of Soviet Russia from the position of super power has led to the promotion and projection of chaos and disorder particularly in the Muslim world. While looking into the news being reported by the global electronic, print and social media, it becomes crystal clear that it is just the Muslim countries, predominantly Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen, which have turned out to be the safest havens for the terrorist acts. Hence, instead of revealing their hatred for the non-Muslim world, the fundamentalist terrorists appear to be destroying the political, social and economic stability of their Muslim brethren, and in the holy name of Islam! What a justifiable claim is made by the terrorist Taliban that they are fighting for the cause of Islam!!! It simply means that the terrorists are serving their faith by massacring the Muslims and plundering their resources with the support of non-Muslim forces; what a great combination the terrorists and their god-fathers make!!! Resurgence of an anti-US power, predominantly the Russian Federation, could be stated to be the only way to thwart the terrorists’ ambitions, and their obnoxious network as well. Otherwise, it would be too late to mend the losses the US-supported fundamentalists keep on inflicting upon the Muslim World; the condemnable attack on the sacred shrine of Hazrat Bibi Zainab, the grand-daughter of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is a valid evidence in support of unveiling the real faces of the so-called terrorists committed to make the Muslim a virtual inferno on the face of the earth!
