God did not dispatch you to the earth empty-handed. He equipped you with specific abilities and has in the course of your existence created opportunities for you to acquire some. Your sustenance and significance in life are tied to how well you serve humanity with your abilities. Some have artistic abilities, others can relate exceptionally well with people. For some, their abilities are athletic; for others, they are administrative. Whichever the case, there is something you are able to do, something that stands you out. You have ability. Your present circumstances should not dissuade you. David had the abilities of a musician and a warrior, but he was in the wilderness. Rather than sink into self pity, he utilized these abilities; he composed Psalms to God, he warred against lions and bears that attacked his sheep. Therefore when he faced Goliath, on behalf of Israel, his skill as a warrior, and with the sling, came to the fore. When the king needed a musician, his musical ability brought him to the palace. Nothing can keep you down once you realize you have abilities and seize every opportunity to use them. Arise today, knowing that your sustenance and significance do not lie with what the government or any system can do for you, but with what you can do with your God-given abilities. Your abilities are your greatest antidote against obscurity. Your abilities will distinguish you. The Lord will bless everything you lay your hands to do, in Jesus’ name. - Pastor Taiwo
