God reminded me of HIS promise, never to repeat the 40 days and 40 nights of rain and today the sun came out and our faith was once again restored. The birds had on their Jesus jandals this morning as all the lakes around our section were frozen so they were walking on water, it actually looked pretty funny. Ventured out and went to Rolleston for groceries, and lots of toilet paper. Still a lot of lakes around, sandbags outside the shops in Leeston and the creek down High Street lapping over the bridges. The Fire Brigade was out in Southbridge pumping water from streets and homes. The snow on the Southern Alps was down to the flat, they looked so pristine in the sunlight, picture perfect. It was such a joy to see wee lambs had come through still alive. Dark with mud but alive, huddling up to their mums trying to keep warm. Animals are so resilient. But, on the darker side of nature, probably due to human ignorance of the damage we are doing to the world, thousands have perished in India in the monsoon floods. We have so much to be thankful for and to count our blessings.
