God says to love your neighbor as you love yourself. The consequences of being loved wrong sometimes is not so much the fault of another person, but the responsibility falls on the man or woman in the mirror. Although it is quite understandable why people act the way they do, because of past neglect and hurt, it is still an individuals own pursuit that often leads him or her to a path of pain. No one can hurt you unless you allow them too. Before the floodgates of rain come down, there are many red flags that wave for attention but are often ignored. What seems to be love is misconstrued by ones belief that their love can somehow change another. Contrary to popular belief, this is often times not the case. Knowing how to love yourself properly will come many times with the price of remaining alone. Love yourself enough to let go of others when they show a pattern of unhealthy habits or ways that defy the true essence of love. Love is pure and it seeks a means to flourish and grow. If you are in an unhealthy relationship and the person you are interested in does some things that cause you to question the future of your relationship, it is time to step back and analyze the situation. If the person you love cant see that their habits or issues puts a strain on the relationship and is causing dysfunctional attributes, it just might be time to let go. Love yourself enough to reject those who dont love you or themselves enough to change. Love yourself enough to wait for a love that is healthy and beneficial to both people involved.
