God’s Goodness Psalm 136:1-4 (NIV) 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. 3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. 4 to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever. I pray you have had a blessed week, as have we… Have you ever heard someone say, How good God is! We prayed that it would not rain for our church picnic, and look at the lovely weather! Yes, God is good when He sends good weather. But God was also good when He allowed my sister, Betsie, to starve to death before my eyes in a German concentration camp. I remember one occasion when I was very discouraged there. Everything around us was dark, and there was darkness in my heart. I remember telling Betsie that I thought God had forgotten us. No, Corrie, said Betsie, He has not forgotten us. Remember His Word: For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him. Corrie concludes, There is an ocean of Gods love available--there is plenty for everyone. May God grant you never to doubt that victorious love--whatever the circumstances. Corrie Ten Boom. Let’s remember to praise God and seek His goodness in every situation of our lives… The VBS in Teller, moving of playground equipment, and loving people that need to know God loves them, praise be to God. Have you tasted of God’s goodness today? But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD Jeremiah 9:24. 10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. 2 Chronicles 7:10 (KJV) “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (Jn.10:11). “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Ro.5:6). “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” (Ro.5:8-11). Isnt it amazing, God continues to send missionaries to join us in ministry. Have you come to know God’s goodness? Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him (John 11:9-10). And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not [people apart do not understand (John 1:5). For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:6). If today you do not know that you are one with Christ, He stands before you today and daily calling you to come into relationship in His love. Will you respond today? Today we praise God for what He has done through the faithfulness of our friends from many different Churches throughout the south and our faithful missionaries. We have a few more teams coming in and if you would like to be part of God’s work this spring and summer around us, please just come on and join. So may you join us in lifting up praise for God’s enduring love and goodness to us in this past week.. Look forward to God’s goodness and will in this new and exciting week you have before you. And may you also remember to pray for God’s will for Norton Sound, the ones that have made professions of faith this week and the ones into whom the seed of God’s word has been planted. Praise God for His faithful servants, praise God for Teller and all of our surrounding villages and ministries, praise God for the prison ministry, praise God for the missions we are looking forward to in this upcoming year, above all praise God for His ltrue love and faithfulness. Remember these things as we “Go ye therefore to all nations”… God bless and have a wonderfully blessed week.
