Goldschmidt and Pilgrim Claims Current Mines on Ebay The Goldschmidt Claim, near Sheridan, Montana, covers an amazing mine camp that contains a few cabins, a single battery Stamp, along with 3 adits and a single shaft. Significant gold production was noted from the late 1800s to 1942 when the mine was shut down due to the War Act. The mine never came back in full force, but it was worked, very successfully by 2 families until the 1970s. Ores have been reported as high grade, native gold in place requiring minimal crushing to extract. 1960s work recorded production as low as 8 ounces to the ton, thats close to $8000 for every ton of ore processed. Not a bad return. This is a perfect claim for a small miner or group of miners. Easy access, easy gold and water to wash it all in. The Pilgrim Lode was noted for extremely high native gold values. The Pilgrim Mine was cut directly onto this lode and work was done on this claim. Today it appears to be undisturbed since the 1970s when it was likely last worked. The old headframe has recently fallen over, but the mine and workings are still relatively intact with a stable, collared shaft. There are two buildings on the claim. Both in relatively good condition. One of the buildings is obviously housing for 1-2 miners and the other is a workshop that housed the winch for the headframe and shaft. The workshop is laden with hundreds of core samples. Many of these samples show visible, native gold veins. This is indicative of what was found in the mine and is very impressive. With the price of gold, even 2-3 ounces per week is a few thousand dollars of untaxed income! This claim is on a documented rich producing gold lode that will not disappoint; highly recommended.
