Good Morning Everyone. The storms are hitting my area so this will be on the short side this morning. There were two of the JB yearlings out and about/ 911M and the Black Female were also seen. . 907M (Blacktail Yearling) was spotted as well. Back to the JB Yearling. The Large Male and the Female rallied up and took on a cow with calf. They managed to get the calf down but had no clue how to handle the mother. A raging mother elk is not a small task to deal with. The yearlings finally took off leaving the calf behind. Mom rushed to her calf and the calf got up after awhile and then they both vacated the area. No damage done. Both escaped. And the yearlings still have no clue what to do with cows when taking a calf down and from her. They have part A under wraps but Part B is still not working out. More instructions please! I asked Natalie what the consensus is on the Lamars not being seen. She replied with she thinks the pups are just too frisky to leave alone and that 925M is hunting at night due to all the people around now. Sounds reasonable to me. Have a good day today, acknowledge yet ignore the thorns in your rose bush. They are part of the beauty of your life. Just handle the rose gently and you wont be stuck. ~ Jann Photo(s) By Doug McLaughlin
