Good Morning Facebook Family Today is Town Tuesday The scripture on my heart is: Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” The birth of Jesus in nearby Bethlehem in the territory of or towards Ephrata (Bethlehem Ephrata) is the fulfillment of the prophecy in Micah 5:2. The first mention of Ephrath occurs in Genesis,[2] in reference to where Rachel died giving birth to Benjamin and is buried on the road from Bethel. A very old tradition is that Ephrath refers to Bethlehem,[3] and thus that she died on the way there, reflected by the ancient Tomb of Rachel at the citys entrance. Throughout much of the Bible, Ephrath is a description for members of the Israelite tribe of Judah, as well as for the possible founders of Bethlehem. O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie! Above your deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light. The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight. O morning stars, together Proclaim the holy birth And praises sing to God, the King, And peace to men on earth. For Christ is born of Mary, And gathered all above, While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love. How silently, how silently, The wondrous Gift is givn! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive Him still, The dear Christ enters in. O holy Child of Bethlehem, Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sins and enter in, Be born to us today. We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell: Oh, come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel! Amen!!
