Superintendent MAJOR INITIATIVES Full Service Community Schools - meeting the needs school as a unique learning community Safe and Positive School Campuses - working to have peaceful school campuses where all students belong Rigorous elementary and K-8 programs with unique curricula Rigorous Middle School program (STEAM) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics College/Career Preparatory Wall to Wall Academies - Small Learning Communities in High Schools To Support Our Vision for our diverse learners to be empowered, prepared and equipped with academic and life skills needed to be productive citizens, who can positively contribute to society. Thank You The Vallejo City Unified School District would like to thank the following Agencies for investing in programs that will benefit our students: ­Sierra Health Foundation, California Endowment and California Wellness Foundation for the $400,000 Positive Youth Justice Initiative grant to support the success of our crossover youth. Solano Association of Realtors for grant award of over $6,000.00 to support student programs and activities. $375 to Patterson Elementary for their ENCORE (Enrichment, Nurturing, Caring, Organized, Recreation, Everyone) Program - funds will be used for the completion of their mosaic wall project. $500 to Franklin Middle School for their After School Community Garden Program - funds will be used to purchase shovels, wheel barrows, plants and seeds. $500 to Glen Cove Elementary for their Accelerated Reader and Math Assessment Programs - funds will be used to help assess the students, obtain more student data and give students more practice on the computer. $500 to the Districts Choir Program - will be a traveling performing group made up of top singers from each high school which will be debuting at a Visual and Performing Arts Showcase in the Spring. $5,000 to Lincoln Elementary for their Computer Lab - will use the fund to purchase computer furniture in order to complete the computer lab.
