However, this is one thing I refuse to stay silent about. Many of you are probably wondering, why does she care so much? Why bother? I struggled for a long time in order to nurse Emy. From the day she was born, fast and furious in the back of an ambulance, she was small, and didnt have a deep enough latch. I asked nurses for help, but the pain persisted. As the weeks went by, the pain got worse. It was a toe curling pain, that often brought me to tears. I bled, cracked and had to hold my chest if I walked or went into cold air. We went to doctors, public health nurses, lactation consultants, osteopaths, etc. I DID NOT STOP fighting for my nursing relationship with my sweet, rainbow baby. I am proud to be breastfeeding my child, and I will not be shamed by someone who doesnt have the courage to approach me themselves. I WILL NOT stop advocating for mothers who need support in making the same choice.
