Good afternoon. There have been several thefts from businesses and workplaces. Please secure your purses, phones, and anything else of value when you step away from your desk or work space. There have been reports of people stealing these things when employees walk away from their desks. If you’re a business owner, please be aware of “customers” who come into your business. They may not be there to buy anything. Let your employees know this. Customers at grocery stores have been victimized as well. Do not leave your purse unattended in a shopping cart. This was put out today: A review of stolen vehicle reports in Nashville from Sunday, September 28, through Saturday, October 4, shows that 43% of the automobiles taken (6 of 21) were easy targets because the keys were left inside or made available to thieves. The police department’s continuing PARK SMART campaign strongly urges citizens to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables and REMOVE THE KEYS. Officers also urge citizens to SHOP SMART by not leaving purses or other valuables unattended in shopping carts or in plain view in vehicles, even for a very short time. An unattended purse is an easy target for a thief. Always remember to PARK SMART. Thanks and have a great afternoon.
