Good, compelling benefits to plant-based diet. Not to mention, Dinner with DaVinci. Italian painter, sculptor, architect and engineer, L. Da Vinci once made the claim: The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men. Yes, would that we were there yet. As every 60 seconds in the U.S alone, nearly 20,000 land animals have their lives abruptly ended, to make food for Man. And from a health standpoint, the historical record proves - FAR beyond a reasonable doubt, Id say - that the man consuming an animal protein-laced western diet has a far greater likelihood of coming down with cancer, heart disease, diabetes and the like, than does his plant-eating counterpart. See Dr. Campbells The China Study for more on that issue. Further: With regard to personal Karma, as some might call it? Who with his wits about him, could argue that inflicting torture, enslavement - and death! - on a daily basis, to simply fill ones belly might NOT come back to haunt him, someday; perhaps sooner, rather than later. Not a one, Id contend. Particularly when Mother Nature offers us such a wondrous variety of delicious, nutritious plant food from which to choose. And, were we to distribute it with care and equality, using our present skills and technological wherewithal - thered no doubt, be enough of it to last each of us a lifetime, and then some. Compelling reasons all Id say, to embrace the plant based way, instead of...the other. As, should YOU, do so? Well for one, youll give yourself a one heck of a lot better chance of living out your later years in a state of vibrant health, rather than debilitating illness. Youll have the fringe benefit of knowing you attempted to bring your fellow man a bit closer to Mr. DaVincis desire; that day upon which man considers the purposeful death of fellow beast a crime akin to murder, of man. Plus, youll build the type of Karma Id wager, thatll serve you well the rest of your days. And, should life persist thereafter, in some manner?... Perhaps beyond. Speaking of which: Should you run into Mr. DaVinci after leaving flesh? And if youve previously (prior to physical end) made the decision to forgo flesh as food, in favor of plant? Well, Im betting youll be able to hold your head high upon the meeting; to look the great artist/inventor in eye, with confidence. No, you may not be able to inform him that you lived to see his dream came true - equal living terms for man, animal alike. As weve quite a ways to go, unfortunately, on that front. Yet you can certainly inform him, you did your best in the matter. At which point he might well consider you a friend going forward. Have you a love of art, or invention? Perhaps after a time of association, he might allow you a private viewing of his latest painting, sculpture, marvel of engineering, or other such accomplishment. Yes, you might even - given your commonality in diet - invite him over for tea, or something more substantial, food-wise. Wait, a possible drawback: If accepted, I can almost hear it now. A bit of backlash you might say; a possible temporary inflation, of ego. You to friends, family: What did you do tonight for fun? Uh huh, yes, yes, yes. Alright what else!? Ok, sounds great! All very interesting yet Ive got to tell you - its NOTHING compared to MY night!! Why? Because thanks to MY dietary choices in life I just had... Dinner with DaVinci!
