Good day, All! I wanted to post a couple of topics for the consideration of the group, which I offer from afar as some stream-of-consciousness musings: 1) Thank you, Hank, for putting a roster together! 2) I think it would be a good idea to include the School as early as possible. 2a) It might be fun to do a tour of the school as a group. I did this on a trip to NJ a couple years ago, and it was wonderful to be back in the space. 2b) There may be something we can do as a group for the school/students ... maybe they can work it into the curriculum, like when they are studying RAISINS (thats us!) or US history in the 1970s. Or, an assembly or perhaps a couple of us can present where can you go from Brookdale to individual classes. 2c) I have distinct recollection of our class burying a time capsule in front of the school in 1975, somewhere near the flagpole, to be dug up in the distant year 2000. Does anyone else remember this? No one at the school does; and, when I discussed this with the current principal (Ms. Cherence, email [email protected] phone 973.680.8520 x2900) to her knowledge the time capsule has been left untouched because no one knows anything about it. My sweet Gramma Goldie used to remind me ALL THE TIME (she passed away in 1999; otherwise, I would have made more of a verschtink back in 2000!). 3) Should we consider inviting some teachers to a small (maybe lunch or coffee?) event? Im friends with Ms. Olwen Bougher (the music teacher) here on FaceBook. Id love to see any of them who might be interested. 4) I sincerely hope we can make this happen and get together ... however many choose to participate. I have many fond memories of Brookdale, and it would be great fun to reconnect, reminisce and learn what is important to each of us now. Thank goodness for FaceBook! I will be more than happy to do whatever I can from Arizona. Im sorry I wont be there with you in person at your meeting this weekend ... have an iced coffee for me! All the best, F
