Good luck to the Gordon Central Warriors tonight as they host Lafayette. I will be there cheering for the home team. This is a bitter sweet night as my son and favorite player, Noah Hunt #61, will be sidelined for the game due to an injury. He should be ready to go next Friday! So as I cheer for my team, I will be praying for the safety and success of all the athletes, regardless of the color uniform they wear, who suit up for competition tonight. They are all someones baby boy, or young man, depending upon your perspective. So as I hope for and expect a victory for my team, I wont fall out with you for believing the same about your team. In the end, the lessons learned in football are not about who starts and who substitutes. Or even who wins and who looses. Rather, team sports provide an opportunity to sacrifice for others, learn to persevere and work for common success. The whole is bigger than any one person. So tonight, Ill be cheering for my team, but Ill also be pulling for your sons to succeed as well. Most of all, Ill be praying that they all learn something while playing the best game ever invented! Lets play some football!
