Good morning, Black Love, and Black Power Family!! When we post pics of whats happening at Uhuru Academy, its not to brag or boast, or to shame anyone. We share in order to let everyone know that this isnt rocket science and you can do it too!! We want to build an Afrikan Centered school system throughout this country and the world. Trust me, if we dont the enemy is going to come in, redefine/pervert it, turn Afrikan centered ed into a cash cow, then destroy it. We have to take responsibility for our education on all levels and this is going to take serious commitment and work. Regardless of ideology most would agree that the current education system at best only prepares us to assimilate, abandon our communities, and find jobs. This model is unacceptable. Those who dont fit in this model are filling the prisons, living in poverty, and/or are underemployed and under utilized. Our children are being socialized into alternative lifestyles, materialism, laziness, and chemical dependency. WE HAVE TO STEP UP RIGHT NOW if we are to stem the tide. WE NEED SCHOOLS. Not Black schools that teach White supremacy. We need schools that teach from our world view in a way that empowers our children to be owners and producers in a global Afrikan village. We can do this but not of were divided. We must unite for our babies. While fighting the homicide against our children in the street, we cant continue to turn a blind eye to the mentacide that occurs in the classroom everyday! Lets build our future on our own terms.
