Good morning FB. My meditation today: 1Corinthians 11:23-32 the Lords Supper. Often as I partake in communion services, I am brought to tears as I reflect on Christ hanging on Calvarys Cross broken as the blood streamed down. I close my eyes and simply envision this. It makes the service very personal to me. The Apostle Paul as he instructed the church at Corinth about the meaning of the supper. He stressed the importance of self reflection and that every time we partake in the Lords Supper, we proclaim his death until he comes again. How many truly understand the seriousness of what we are doing when we commune? When we take communion unworthily, we are as those who crucified Christ rather than those who celebrate and remember his great sacrifice. The next time you receive the Lords Supper, dont do so as mere ritual but go with a humble and grateful heart. Understanding the tremendous sacrifice that Christ made for you and I. So that we no longer have to go to the high priest with our concerns but that through the cross and blood of Jesus, we can now go directly to him. I remain grateful for the blood. #celebratingthecross
