Good morning. Get right at the main thing everybody is noticing this morning....the cloud cover. There is an upper level disturbance racing north through California. This is an unexpected development in todays forecast. What is yet to be determined is if there is enough moisture in this to create thunderstorms. We better hope not because if storms do form, they will be dry storms. Right now there are no fire weather bulletins up because there is no widespread coverage expected. So what could happen here is an isolated dry storm or two could get going. This would be most likely over Northern California, the Cascades, and Siskiyous, and out to the east. This is far less likely to happen over the valleys of Southwestern Oregon. Later today into this evening more moisture will arrive aloft that would wetten up storms over Northern California. That will work north tomorrow to arrive over Southern Oregon. This will help reduce the potential of dry storms, but not eliminate it completely. That does not look to happen until we get to Tuesday. The one good benefit of the cloud cover is going to be lower than expected termps for today. It was expected that we would be right around 100 for Medford today. With the cloud cover that is looking more like 95 - 97 being our high temp range for today.
