Good morning. I am sorry to start the day with this but I have had - TopicsExpress

Good morning. I am sorry to start the day with this but I have had enough. Most mornings I visit our beautiful white cliffs and walk my dog. Often I take a black sack with me and pick up litter discarded by irresponsible people. I do this because I care about this unique attraction. By way of an example, this morning at 06:30 as I got out my car, the occupant of a camper van who had obviously stayed overnight, attempted to leave a carrier bag full of rubbish and beer cans next to his vehicle before driving off. Over the last week, I am appalled to say, that someone has been metal detecting on Foxhill Down. Not only have they been using a metal detector but they have also left the worthless dug up debris and holes for people to trip or stumble on. The White Cliffs and surrounding land is looked after by the National Trust. It is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is protected. The chalk downland here supports a unique and diverse population of plants and wildlife. It is illegal to use a metal detector, it is a criminal offence to do so. If anyone knows who is responsible either tell them to desist in this disgusting behaviour or better still report them to the police. Whilst on the subject of litter, its name and shame time, so congratulations to Jaroslaw Rybczynski who travelled on the 19:50 sailing of the Rodin on 16.08.14 and then threw their ticket on the ground. Also, congratulations to whoever consumed four double cheeseburgers and a mayo chicken burger purchased from the Sandwich Road MacDonalds recently, leaving most of it scattered all over the place. Thanks also to the lout that left broken beer bottles laying around for either children or animals to cut themselves on (as I did). If you cannot enjoy the stunning views that this beautiful location offers, please stay at home.
