Good morning! Its devotion time! ~ Only God Knows ~ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.- Jeremiah 29:11 Life is a funny thing. It is unpredictable and there is no guarantee that as each day comes we will even survive to see another. But yet we still make plans for the future, whether it be 2 days down the road or 2 years ahead. We often live each day preparing for the next day, or week or month. We develop all sorts of plans to fulfill our desires and reach our goals. We put different things into place and try to get things done our own way and in our own time. Lets face it, all of us tend to take charge, become our own life planners and do things according to our own calendars. Of course making plans for ourselves is important if we hope to accomplish certain things and reach certain goals. But the reality of it is, we can make all the plans in the world but only Gods knows what the future holds and if any of those plans will be fulfilled. Only God knows what He has in store for us. He already has a map laid out for each of us, outlining the journey we will take on the roads of life. He knows every highway and byway we will travel. He knows every corner we will take and every stop we will take. He knows every roadblock, every pothole, every delay and every accident we will encounter on our journey. The point is, only God knows every single detail about our lives and what will unfold in our future. So we need to give all of our hopes and dreams to Him, and just let Him take charge. We must let God operate according to His map and calendar for our lives instead of our own. And when it seems like life is not going the way we would like it, we cannot get discouraged. Our Father may allow us to face many challenges and detours along lifes journey, but every setback or difficulty we experience is all in His marvelous plan for us. As uncomfortable and hard our difficult times may seem, they serve a crucial purpose that will eventually lead us to the great place God has lined up for us. God is not going to take us through struggles and trials, to bring us to a final destination of more struggles and trials. Our rough roads and the storms we face along the way, are only allowed by God to prepare us, strengthen us and bring us closer to Him as we journey in life. We need to realize that God wants to be our life guide. He wants to take the wheel from us and drive us along the roads He want us to take, but often we insist on staying in the drivers seat and doing things our way. If we would just surrender every aspect of our lives to our Father and trust Him to take care of us, all the disappointments, worries and frustrations we usually have when we try to be in control should decrease. Only God knows exactly what the future holds for us, but we should find comfort and peace in knowing that He has promised us a bright one. So we cant get discouraged when life seems dark or takes us in a direction we dont like. If we just let God take the wheel, we can be sure to make it pass all the rough roads and weather all the storms to reach that place of blessings, joy and victory He has prepared for us. - Miche
