Good morning! Looking out my window this morning, I am able to - TopicsExpress

Good morning! Looking out my window this morning, I am able to see a few snow flurries falling rignt now. At this time, however, they are so light that they are not accumulating on any surfaces, including grassy areas. We could see this snow pick up in intensity a little bit in the next 15 minutes (if you are in northwestern portions of the county) or in an hour and a half (if you are in the City of Racine). By picking up in intensity, I simply mean going from just a few flurries to a slightly more steady light snow. Todays snow is what I call ambiance snow, in which you are impacted very little if at all in terms of road conditions, event planning, etc. Roads are only wet this morning and are not snow-covered, however you still need to take those precautions you take when roads are wet. The snow is expected to come to an end by the noon hour. After that, we will begin to see some sunny breaks in the cloud cover. The maximum daytime temperature today will be in the mid- to upper-30°s. I say this instead of simply saying high temperature because we already saw a higher reading than what we are expecting this afternoon. This occurred at midnight this morning, so that will likely go down as our high temperature for today. We are looking at a cold front pushing through in association with this snow. This cold front will result in significantly lower temperatures for the weekend. Mid-20°s is the best we can do for our weekend, with lows Sunday morning around 10°. There is some good news in all of this: it will be mostly sunny! As we roll into the shortened work week next week, we are looking at highs to be in the mid-30°s for Monday and Tuesday. A few light snow showers are also possible on Monday. Low-30°s are expected for Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day, with a chance of light snow on Thanksgiving. -Alex Moxon (6:11a)
