Good morning, The flow front remains active and has advanced - TopicsExpress

Good morning, The flow front remains active and has advanced approximately 150 yards since yesterday. The front is approximately 40 yards wide and moving in a NE direction. Presently the front is approx 1 mile from the transfer station on Apa’a Street and 1.7 miles from the Pahoa Village Road. There was a light SW wind this morning causing the smoke an vog to be carried through the lower Puna (HPP) and Hilo areas. Fire activity on the front was in the underbrush along the tree line and no running or spreading fire. Fire activity will be monitored as the flow approaches more light brush possibly today and tomorrow. The fire breaks that were established will prevent any threat to neighboring areas. Numerous surface break outs upslope in area above where flow entered the crack system (image 131) and also noted more smoke activity along the fissure/tube system on the northwest side slope of Pu’u O’o (image 138).
