Good morning all Many thanks for the well wishes - hope I havent given anyone a fright because of no response since Sept 4 - my telephone and Internet have been down - the telephone died on the 28th August and the internet died just after I posted to Facebook on the 4th Sept. They have only just come back on line. We had exceptionally heavy rainfall the last week or two or August and the result was that the underground telephone cable/s became waterlogged and stopped working. Approximately 80 houses and 70 businesses were affected. Eventually a 50 metre length of 1400 core cable had to be replaced and Telkom have been working virtually non-stop to restore services and it looks like it has finally been done. Healthwise things have improved although the wife went down with a bad dose of flu and is slowly on the road to recovery. Im doing okay - the tranquilizer appears to be doing its job as I feel quite good and nothing ruffles me at the moment. When I saw the doc a week ago my blood pressure had dropped to 170/75 and doc said my blood pressure is okay as apparently the 75 - heart at rest- is the important reading and the reason for the high values is stress- my doc has known me for about 40 odd years and he said " I am my own worst enemy" as I am a real worry guts and worry about trivial matters. I see him again on Thursday and hopefully the blood pressure has dropped to its normal 140/75 or so. I havent been completely idle with no internet and at a later date will give a report on what I have been doing. Now let me go and read the 200 odd email messages that accumulated whilst I had no interent so it will take a few days to get back on stream.
