Good morning all, it would seem that things are starting to heat up in Beckley regarding Beckleys Historic District, I would hope most of you have seen the story by the Register- Herald and also the post about the Landmarks Commission meeting thats supposed to take place this afternoon at 4:00 pm in the city council chambers located at City Hall. Folks the people who are involved in this have been doing things their way for so long that they probably feel like thay are above the law and as long as people are not aware of whats happening then they can continue doing things their way BUT that is not going to happen,I might not live in Beckley now but that doesnt mean I dont love my hometown ( As you can tell Im still madly in love with her) I grew up in Beckley and belive me when I tell you Im not happy with the way she has been treated, never in my wildest dreams did I ever envision Beckley being treated this way or her people being kept in the dark about it. I will close with this I didnt have a dog in this dog fight when I first started all I wanted to do was save the old Beckley Feed an Hardware because it meant a lot to me, but as returned home more often I started realizing that things were happening that i really didnt care for and that things were being destroyed instead of being saved and repurposed,so now Im in it upto my eyebrows and I will stay in it until things are changed and my home town is taken care of the way she should be regardless of where the chips may fall
